Pregame notes: Oh, what could have been...

BATON ROUGE -- Walking through the LSU's campus today was tiresome experience. LSU fans are C-R-A-Z-Y. I felt bad for the few Florida fans brave enough to wear Gators apperal. They were verbally (and sometimes physically) assaulted all the way into Tigers Stadium. Two female Florida students in dresses were doused with beer and pelted with beer cans as they walked down fraternity row.

Forty minutes to game time and Tiger Stadium is nearly full. The student section is already chanting, screaming, breathing bourbon fumes onto the field.

Three pregame questions to ponder?

1. Former Florida quarterback Danny Wuerffel will be on the sidelines tonight. Will he keep Tim Tebow calm in the sophomore's biggest game of his career?

2. Why didn't Florida bring its entire band? Basketball jazz bands are larger.

3. Tony Joiner is not warming up with the first-team defense. How long until Joiner enters the game?

The atmosphere is amazing here but just think what could have been had Florida not lost to Auburn. It would have been one of the biggest games in SEC history. LSU is ranked No.1 for the first time since 1959. That year, the Tigers beat No.3 Ole Miss 7-3 in Tigers Stadium.
