BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Happy Festivus.
So, did anyone watch the final minutes of the 6A high school state championship? Pretty sure a couple UF fans wouldn't mind seeing Seminole's Andre Dubose donate to the Gators' Human Fund next season. The Gators only have one receiver commitment (Nu'Keese Richardson of Pahokee) this recruiting cycle and could stand to use another. It's a tough sell for the Gators, though. UF loses two receivers (possibly three, Riley Cooper to the MLB Draft?) this season but returns six/seven (David Nelson, Deonte Thompson, Carl Moore, Paul Wilson, Omarius Hines, Frankie Hammond Jr., T.J. Lawrence).
RECEIVER COMMITMENT: Nu'Keese Richardson, Pahokee (5-8, 151 pounds). Another smallish skill player.
GRADE: C, If Nuke is anything like Janoris Jenkins (another Pahokee guy) then UF might not need another receiver commitment.
While UF isn't hurting for receivers, the Gators definitely need to add depth at tight end on Feb. 4. (National Signing Day). UF returns one tight end next season (junior Aaron Hernandez) but the Gators only have one commitment so far. Two more would be ideal.
TIGHT END COMMITMENT: Desmond Parks of Greer, S.C. (6-4, 218) Can Parks play right away?
GRADE: D, With the loss of Cornelius Ingram and Tate Casey, UF needs depth at tight end.
Up tomorrow...Offensive line.

For once it is not about our commitments coming in, it is about the guys that are actually going to get playing time as sophomores. The guys you listed offer plenty of depth at the WR position and, I guarantee, we grab at least one more 3 or 4 star prior to the end of the signing period. I have no concern about our recruiting...it is this little thing called a national championship that I am thinking about now.

Dubose's game-winning td grab in the 6a title game was sick. What a clutch play. He strikes me as a guy who could come in right away and fill some of the void that will be left by Percy Harvin.
I also saw St. Thomas Aquinas romp over Lakeland on Friday night. I know Lakeland has been a UF pipeline lately, but is there anyone of note UF is after from Aquinas?

Jo can C.I. get a medical red shirt? Or does he want to go into the draft?

C.I. doesn't want a redshirt.

CI was denied a medical redshirt when he first hurt his knee

Good question. Cornelius Ingram redshirted earlier in his career. In order to receive a sixth year of eligibility, Ingram would have to prove that he was redshirted initially because of an injury. He was not. Six years of eligibility are rare.

Carlos,
Yup, Ray Ray to tight end just like CI, hmmm...quarterback to tight end, so what else would they have in common besides being ex-quarterbacks in high school then switched to tight end in college.....
It will be interesting to see if Jordan Reed makes it on the field as a quarterback

If Denard Robinson of Deerfield Beach commits to UF, then that will make three quarterbacks turned defensive backs in UF's secondary: Joe Haden, Will Hill and Denard Robinson. Am I leaving anyone out? Did Janoris play a little quarterback at Pahokee? I know Nu'Keese Richardson lined up at QB a little this season for the Blue Devils.
