GAINESVILLE -- So, Kenny Boynton Jr. of Plantation American Heritage is sitting behind the Gators' bench, right? Well, you can't talk to UF players at halftime but you sure can talk to the incoming recruits. Here's what Boynton Jr. thought of the first half...
"The game is very intense, it's a good game," Boynton Jr. said.
What do the Gators need to improve upon?
"Right now they need to block out Patterson more," Boynton Jr. said.
[PICTURED, Kenny Boynton Jr. played at Pompano Beach Blanche Ely his sophomore year. He'll play for the Gators next season. Presumably, he can still use those orange sneakers.]
Indeed, Patterson leads all scorers with 14 points. He is getting too many second-chance points and has already taken 16 shots, all under the basket.
The two teams only combined for three fouls in the first half and there were no foul shots attempted.
"They're letting them play but I think Florida is responding well," Boynton Jr. said.
