St. Thomas CB Cody Riggs favoring Florida Gators over Georgia Bulldogs

GAINESVILLE -- Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas senior Cody Riggs competed in Friday Night Lights last weekend and the cornerback left Ben Hill Griffin Stadium with a favorable impression of the Florida Gators.

Riggs Leaning heavily towards committing to the Georgia Bulldogs for months, Riggs told FlaVarsity.com on Monday that he now considers the Gators to be his top team.

"Their staff is great and showed they really want me at camp," Riggs said. "I got to talk to two of their players, who play in the secondary like me, in Major Wright, who is from my school, and Joe Haden. They had a lot of good things to say. I could see myself playing there."

Riggs is one of two highly rated cornerbacks at St. Thomas this season. The other is Lamarcus Joyner, who also participated in Friday Night Lights but is currently favoring Florida State.

joyner is definitely NOT going to florida, so just move on jo u can 4get about him. I dont know about Riggs

jo didn't say Joyner was going to Florida. So he has nothing to move on from.

emilio estevez...this joyner kid your boyfriend or something? Jesus H man.

He does seem pretty sensitive about it.

Maybe if the Noles haven't "turned the corner" as they are desperately trying to sell and Ohio St starts seeming further away from home, UF could sneak in and take him. There is a chance, especially if Riggs changed things as well.

Current odds : FSU 60%, Ohio St 25%, UF 10%, field 5%

Isn't there another CB from STA too? 4 star kid?

our secondary is looking downright frightening for the next 5 years...

There's a safety at STA who's pretty good, if that's who you're talking about.
