GAINESVILLE -- Florida Gators starting strong safety Ahmad Black did not practice on Thursday morning with the returning players of the University of Florida football team. Black [PICTURED] recently strained at back muscle while lifting weights, according to Bruce Black, Ahmad's father.
"He's fine," Bruce Black said. "I think he was just getting some treatment this morning and he should be out there this afternoon."
Incoming freshmen and a few returning players will practice at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday.
Senior linebacker Dustin Doe was also not at practice on Thursday morning. Doe is currently suspended from the team for repeatedly driving with a suspended license. He was recently arrested. The other veteran players who did not practice on Thursday morning were redshirt junior Emmanuel Moody and senior receiver Carl Moore. Moody and Moore were both in attendance but sat out due to injuries, according to a University of Florida spokesman.
