GAINESVILLE -- Florida coach Urban Meyer seemed to take an indirect shot at the Miami Hurricanes (and a direct shot at SpongeBob SquarePants!) on Tuesday when asked a seemingly innocuous question about the difficulties players face who are either watching football from the sidelines due to an injury or the depth chart.
"The worst thing that can happen to a player is he sits home and watches TV or SpongeBob or whatever the heck those kids watch," Meyer said.

For those Gators fans not familiar with the link between the Miami Hurricanes and SpongeBob SquarePants, I'll catch you up to speed. After defeating the Oklahoma Sooners, Miami quarterback Jacory Harris told his team that they weren't allowed to watch ESPN. They could only watch SpongeBob. LINK! and LINK!
Coincidence or just the good-natured ribbing of a rival program? Either way, Gator Clause thanks Meyer and SpongeBob for making our job that much easier.

Haha. I think it is just coincidence. No way he knows details like that about what Jacory Harris would say in an interview...and then remember to use them in a press conference weeks later.

Urban Meyer is great. One of the best college football coaches in the country (behind Saban and Pete Carroll) and he is arrogant as heck. AWESOME!
Jacory Harris is arrogant but has no reason to be with his 10 TD 7 INT ratio. Plus, the dude fumbles more than Sammie Smith at the goaline.
Too bad the Dolphins got rid of Saban. Saban comes in and immediately turns the program around from the overrated Shula days. Miami makes excuses every year for their scrub head coach. You get what you pay for.

I doubt he actually was taking a shot at UM. We're not on his schedule so I don't think he even worries about us. Outside of trying to beat us to recruits. Even if he was taking a shot it was subtle and nothing offensive. BTW Hankerson is doing a lot better catching the ball. What the hell is a "Shocka"?

what the heck is that about? He had no reason to take a shot at miami. thats not funny at all. that really grinds my gears. They don't even play miami. words cannot express how much i hate the gators. You guys really cant deal with success can you. You gotta hate on everybody else's success to validate yourselves. Especially since Harris leads tebow in TDs and Yards, and this was against MUCH better competition than what tebow played. honestly, im dissappointed. I didnt think the gators would stoop THIS low.
