GAINESVILLE -- Florida coach Urban Meyer spent time at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida early Sunday morning a few hours after Meyer's team lost to Alabama 32-13 in the SEC championship game.
According to the Associated Press, Meyer was was treated for dehydration and released. A Florida spokesman said that Meyer was "feeling fine." Meyer is scheduled to speak with reporters Sunday evening during an BCS bowl conference call. Florida (12-1) is likely headed to the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
The week started badly for the Gators when defensive end Carlos Dunlap was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Saturday's loss to Alabama was Florida's first defeat in over a year.
