The Carl Moore Watch continues for the Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE -- Everyone remembers what it took to get Carl Moore to sign with Florida, right? Everyone remembers the mini-controversies his recruitment spawned, correct?

Well, nearly two and half years after UF quarterback Tim Tebow phoned Moore the night Tebow won the 2007 Heisman Trophy, the receiver from California still hasn't made good on his side of the deal. Will he ever? That's the question everyone wants to know as spring practice winds down and Moore continues to miss practices. Moore missed his second consecutive practice on Wednesday. UF's spring scrimmage -- the Orange & Blue Debut -- is set for April 10. Will Moore be suiting up for the Gators? On Wednesday, that possibility was left unanswered by UF offensive coordinator Steve Addazio.

Addazio said that Moore is dealing with "personal issues" and the coach gave no timetable for Moore's return. Calls to Moore's mother, Jackie Moore, were not returned on Wednesday evening.

Moore stormed off the practice field on Saturday and hasn't been seen since. Are we to assume that Moore's public show of emotion -- he got angry right in front of about a dozen reporters on Saturday -- and his absences since that day are related? It would unfair to Moore to jump to conclusions at this point. All that is certain is that Moore hasn't been practicing and he's not injured. Moore missed all of the 2009 season with an injured back, according to UF coach Urban Meyer. On Wednesday, when asked if Moore was having problems with his back, Addazio reiterated that Moore's problems were "personal" and not physical.

Moore is the only senior receiver on the Gators' roster. This is his final chance to contribute. How will he be remembered? To be continued ...

Oh NO!!! Another five star recruit with problems but are classes every year are like the best in history what's the deal why do Half of our top five star recruits always have legal or personal problems this sucks. Our recieving core should be better than crapy Miami but it ISN'T!!! Get on that Urban

Thats a very good question GAniesville GAtor and its very simple one to answer (one, more of you should be asking);
u had a gimmicky offense where you have a fullback playing QB who is running most of the time and occasionally he pulls up and lofts a pass 2 a wide-out. so if your a WR or RB why would you want to play in an offense that revolves around a fullback running..
but also, you all keep recruiting these prima donna types who need to be pampered and feel entittled to playing time and dont feel the need to put in the hard work that is required to become a better player.
& maybe thats why all these 4-5 star athlete crash & burn at UF..

why would you call his mother Joseph ?

lemme guess ... responsible reporting ?

everyday is a continuation, kinda like day to day .

This is a good example of how transfers (albeit juco transfer in this example) rarely work out for anybody, let alone the Gators. Great at the JUCO level, not so much at D-I.

As for angry canes guy using old roster names above. Isn't the spread akin to the old single wing used in the '40's, '50's, '60's and '70's? If so isn't it more "basic" and "archaic" rather than gimmicky? With the exception of certain nuances, isn't this the most plain vanilla offense in football? Are you just a complete idiot?

this just in, Belleview has a paddy wagon at every GAtor practice for when a certain coach blows. REMEMBER EVERY 4 HOURS..

FIRST time ANY Miami, Duh U team, has been to a Final in any Sport since … uhhhhhhhhh …

Disillusioned Cane fans have voted.. Da U will now be called Da Was.

Da' Was! This by way of Ben Volin's blog. I wish I could take credit for that one! Too funny and spot on!

Cane in hogtown here, even the radio station here in gainesville 92.5 wind fm is joking today that Urban quit again and Bobby B is the new coach.
Laughing stock, lmao!!

Jo - word on the street is that Carl got busted and is now flippin' burgers at Carl's Jr.

Why would I call Jackie Moore,

Because the Miami Herald pays me to be a reporter ... and I am a doctor of journalism!

I MISS TEBOW ALREADY I WISH HE WAS HERE TO COMFORT ME :(

HOW MANY TITLES DO THE GAYTURDS HAVE? FIVE IN FOOTBALL? FIVE IN BASEBALL? YES TWO IN BASKETBALL! WELL NO ONE GIVES A DAMB ABOUT BASKETBALL IN S.FLORIDA!!

y2K.......KEEP COUNTING

Personal issues = realizing he sucks!

Quick reason why u have no recievers: bc u spent the last 2 years not passing to them.

I'd compare them to pitchers at bat in the National League.

Frazier,

I agree the spread is real simple and QB friendly, which is a prime example why player who run this offense in the pros flop.

The NFL runs complex offenses, and defenses are complex accordingly.

The gators experience so much success with the spread bc they have superior athletes, but when they played a complex defense with comparable athletes like Bama, the got SMACKED.

If you spent 4 years in college studying for a profession, hit the real world and cannot apply anything you learned.... How would you feel?

DISSAPOINTED AND UNDERPREPARED.

Florida Gators: the epitome of all style and no substance. Just like Urban Meyer. I'm retiring, I'm back, I'm sick and need to spend more time with my family. Monkey see, monkey do!! What else do you expect these kids to do, look at their role model, URBAN LIAR!!

I dwell in the past, because....well I have nothing else to talk about. Hurricane football used to be something, we used to be Da' U (at least that's what I saw on 30/30), but now we are a bunch of has-beens. All I can do is light bags of poo on the Gators' doorstep and ring the doorbell. Sigh!

Da' Was (formerly Da' U)

How true this statement is.

Miami is a joke. Such a prestigious football institution that is always talking about its championships but attracts 10,000 fans to home games...what???
We run a pro style offense but can't win the acc so it serves no purpose.
We have all these players in the nfl but lately are putting less and less players into the pro's.
Look blind cane fans, your time came and went. Do you think Jacory Harris is going to do anything this year? People talk about Tebow's arm have you seen Harris throw? Its one duck after another. The guy can't run, has no pocket presence. And you were calling him a heisman candidate? please. This is your wake up call. Miami is done. 9-4 next year at best. Hey if you keep going to the music city bowl they might eventually consider changing the name of the bowl to the Hurricane Bowl. You can install a bunch of tvs everywhere and run the um documentary over and over again.

i dwell in the past, because...well the only other thing to talk about is my flaky coach, and how we used to be something, but now 2 years removed from a title we are has beens. The shelves are empty compared to Miami's
realizing the undefeated season will never come no matter how many cupcakes we play
waaaaaaaahhhh!!

Post after post I put up on Gator blogs and I still can't shake that feeling of resignation that we are a middle of the road ACC team at best. So I continue to craft mean-spirited and non-sensical posts in hopes of quelling my frustration and pain - like a hopelessly obese person feverishly cramming Little Debbie's down my pie hole.

.....Sigh!

Uhhh,Boyz, now uhhh some of y'alls talk here is, ya know, off-the-mark so ta speak. Ya know, ahh wide-left or maybe uhh wide-right....uhhhh sumpin like that, dadgumit.

See....my compulsion to post on Gator blog's leads to weak Bobby Bowden imitations. I need an intervention!

Im a Gator fan and I post on every teams blog all day and night. We will let the entire nation know about our rich tradition here. Stop picking on this team or im going to tell on you guys

one aspect of being apart of a team is the family atmosphere than can be created. This is an indication that florida lacks that atmosphere

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the UAA (which is self-governed and not on the UF payroll) is donating a record $6 million to the university for the second-straight year. The UAA, which contributed an average north of $2 million per year since 1990, tripled its donations due to an increase in revenue (television contracts, titles) and the school’s need for funding after budget cuts and layoffs.

Why don't U spin this into something about evil wreckless "state schools" you stooooUpid dooshbag.

Meatloafs a'cookin

Did you hear John Wall spurned Billy D. and is close to becoming a Cane? -canesrule

I would not want to jinx it, but my bold prediction is Wall is a Cane. -canesrule

“Small classes, the weather, facilities, everything seems right and coach Haith,” Wall is reported to have told the AP, or was it Reuters.
The City Beautiful rejoices. - canesrule

This one's going in the archive. I'll re-post it in November.

Meanwhile, keep sticking your ignorant foot in your mouth dumb canefan.

Nice to see you don't live in the PAST dooooshbag

Im so grateful we have so many great Gator fans here that dont run around to every other team blog. The reason all fans of other teams attack us is because they are 100% jealous. Of what though im not sure. Lets just keep following our coaches lead and stay classy. Stop hating on us...We are the Gator nation and we demand respect. Again, I dont know what for

The Canes will show up to the ACC title this year. THIS IS OUR YEAR.

Meanwhile midway through the 2010 football season the Canes record stands at 3-2.

NEXT YEAR IS OUR YEAR. I didnt mean this year, I meant NEXT YEAR. Our players are too young. I mean Jacory is only a junior. He needs like 5 more years to develop and gain some size and strength.

Let's eee...it's 2010 and everyone's record is 0-0. That's the present, right? The past would 2009, 2008, etc., right? Did the Turds win jack in 2009? Thought so. Does this make all their "living in the past"..."you're irrelevant" comments a case of the pot calling the kettle black? Thought so. Case closed.
