Donezo: Debose out for season with knee injury

GAINESVILLE -- Florida’s enigmatic receiver/kick returner Andre Debose (Seminole High) suffered a season-ending knee injury during Tuesday’s practice, the team announced Wednesday.

Debose tore his left anterior cruciate ligament planting his foot wrong in a non-contact drill, according to head coach Will Muschamp.

“I know Andre is disappointed,” Muschamp said. “He had been doing very well in camp, and we were more than pleased with his effort and attitude. … It is unfortunate and you feel bad anytime that someone is injured.”

According to teammates, the much-maligned redshirt senior was finally making positive strides and appeared poised for a breakout season.

“You can feel him at practice,” cornerback Louchiez Purifoy said. “I wouldn’t have said that last year.”

More to come.

Man the kid just couldn't catch a break.

As a Cane fan I hate to see anyone injured....truly sorry for your loss this season. He will be back better next year.

Agree with Oh Boy, he should get a medical redshirt and give it another try next year.

Feel bad for him, never got going. All that potential and nothing to show. He is a red shirt senior does that mean this is the end of his college days?

the excuse wagon. Here it is for you, Gatr Trash. Wrapped and in a pretty bow. Now you have the perfect excuse for your loss Sep. 7.

Just as the cowardly gatr hoped.

Another 5 star bust. Good riddance. Craigs

Jlo , he can get a medical redshirt and play next year. If granted by the ncaa.

Sidcane is correct. If Debose wants a medical redshirt he'd surely qualify.

I hope they grant the medical redshirt.

Go Gators!

Jesse, if that's the case then I don't see why DeBose wouldn't want to come back next year. Like I said before he hasn't lived up to his potential, asn't done squat yet. Surely he would want one last chance.

To the idiot who is talking about excuses while the rest of us are talking about an injured player, it is you who are a sorry excuse for a human being. That is the only excuse I see here.
