Embrace it

And on the third day, Will Muschamp delivered some zingers...

Much has been made of Florida's 2014 schedule, released by the SEC on Wednesday. See here, here, here, oh wait, yup, here

On Friday, an animated Muschamp admitted what many refuse to acknowledge: It's about TV. It's about money. The new SEC Network (ESPN): They don't want Kentucky vs. Mississippi State. They want prime-time prize fights.

"At the University of Florida we embrace whoever we play and whatever happens. ...At the end of the day, no one wants to say it but it comes down to matchups. People want to see the Gators play. They want to see Florida and Alabama play. I know that's not the company line, but that's the bottom line."

Muschamp ribbed the league a bit, but all in good fun.

"A season ago we were asked to go to College Station and we embraced it and welcomed the [Texas A&M] Aggies to the SEC," he said, smiling. "We've been asked to kickoff at noon Aug. 31, Sept. 1 every year, we embrace it. We've been asked to play a cross-division opponent with LSU. We don't gripe and complain about it, we embrace it. We embrace things at Florida."

He finished his bit by saying, "There's a rumor going around they're going to ask us to play nine conference games next season and rest of the league play eight. And if they do, we'll embrace it. What a wonderful opportunity.”

It certainly is, but the 2013 season can't start soon enough.

Not only is Coach Mus a great coach but he tells it like it is and is funny too.
I too can't wait for the eason to start.
Go Gators!

What do you expect? Have you ever seen a coach whinning about thier schedule? You have no choice but to embrace it. He is a politician telling you what you alread know. All coaches do it.

what you ever you say swamp fever

Swamp fever, you must live under a rock, brother. The exact opposite has happened with the schedules. See: Spurrier, Miles and others' constant griping.

I guess they can't embrace playing Miami every year....cowards!!!!!!!!!

Yo Cane trash

"NO ONE DOES AS YOU WILL SEE IN TERMS OF ATTENDANCE"

Yo it's cool quoting myself
U know I'm right
No one will go to that game U fool
And U compare Ur "rising" season ticket sales with the so called "loses" of sales for the Gators?
R U that stUpid? Really??
So U will sell 22k tickets instead of 20k
Wow that is soooooooooo good
The Gators are responsible for most of Ur rising sales dUmmy

Yo chUmp I aint spamming other boards it's one of U maggots who does that
I only post here for Ur edification

Yo talk about lack of attendance due to schedulling pansies
That's a great one
Welcome to the Golden Retriever Era
The Golden Coward plan
weaken the already weak schedule
only way the fool can come up ith a decent season
play only 2 good teams a year
And still the chUmp fails to get north of 7 wins
Pathetic

Yo delUsionalcane
The Retriever is a noble breed
He should be flattered
The canine is the one who should complain

Pathetic LOOSERS!!!!

The SEC....THE INVENTOR OF THE 7 GAME HOME SCHEDULE WHERE WE CAN BEST "TIP THE ODDS".....

ITS AL SMOKE AND MIRRORS!!!!

Have you ever seen a coach whinning about thier schedule?

Enter one Al Golden who when asked to play LSU to kick off the 2014 season said: no thanks, we cannot play the better teams if we expected to compete.
Then he proceeded to drop teams such as KSU and ink home and home deals with Bethune Cookman instead.

We need to fire pease now. He will be the downfall of or team. There is no way our D will keep us in games like last year. The rajin cajuns and bowling green games were the point where it was decided. No way they should have been in those games.we lucked out last year. This year will be a declining trend un less we fire pease and get someone in here that can actually evaluate talent on the offensive side of the ball.the only starter we have that is a sure starter in week one is driskel and that is not saying much.toledo is scary but the second game is gonna expose us big time.
