Gators talk Dolphins controversy

GAINESVILLE -- As the Jonathan Martin-Richie Incognito bullying story has mushroomed into a national conversion, several UF players dished on the Miami Dolphins harassment story, locker room hazing and more…

On first impressions of the story…

"Yeah, I've seen it. … For Richie Incognito, there's no excuse to do what he's doing. There's hazing and stuff, but some of the things he said, there's no excuse."

-- Tyler Moore, offensive tackle

“Yeah, I’ve seen that, I seen what he said too.”

-- Michael Taylor, linebacker

“Yeah I have. Don’t really pay it much mind.”

-- Trenton Brown, offensive tackle

On balancing locker room fodder versus going too far…

"I'll say good-natured hazing, if you can even say good-natured hazing, but just little things like what they used to do. You tape them to goal post, just little fun stuff. Smack them with some baby powder or something like that. But once you start using some terms that should not be said by certain people, you've gone way too far. … We'll make fun of guys if they do certain things, did something stupid or said something a little fun or something like that. But we don't go that far, not even close to that far.”

-- Moore

“You gotta know who you can push and who you can mess with like that. I’m a guy people can say pretty much almost anything to as long as it’s not really disrespectful. I’m all for the jokes, all for playing you’ve just gotta know the personality of a player and you’ve just gotta know what you can do what you can say to a person and treat everybody with respect. Everybody’s got a different level of comfort-ability about what you can say about them and how to approach them, you’ve just gotta know your teammates. That’s my main thing with me, just respecting your teammates and knowing what you can do and what you can say to who.”

-- Taylor

“I mean, we play, but I think everybody knows there’s a fine line. … [What that is,] I don’t know, but I guess you know when you cross it.”

-- Brown

On handling problems “internally…”

“Yeah, I mean usually if you’ve got a problem like that it’s usually handled or solved in the locker room through verbally or physically. However you gotta handle it’s handled it and it’s nipped in the bud quick. I’m surprised to see it’s gotten this far, I thought it would be handled by now, I didn’t know anything about it until it came out big. … I mean usually we can talk most of our problems out. We’re old enough where we don’t have to fight all the time. Sometimes there are issues, you handle ‘em, that’s how it is with a team that’s how it is with a family. Every team has issues, you handle ‘em and you move on ‘cause you have to see these people every day you can’t be beefin’ with ‘em every day.”

-- Taylor

Why is foley allowing our hard earned tax dollars go to hazing and wasting tape taping people to goalposts? I thought that stuff was frowned upon and these guys are doing it and bragging. What a dump.well, cant control thugs that choke out coaches.

Come and listen to a story about a virgin man named Sid
A poor loser, his mother barely kept at birth
Then one day he was throwing up a U,
And up and down the block he was laughed at till he turned blue
Ridicule that is, sexual abuse, daily beatdowns.

Well the first thing you know ol Sid's a virgin,
Bunnel townfolk said "Sid move away from here"
Said "Miami is the place you ought to be"
So they beat him up some more and he moved to Miami

Cleaning Swimmin pools, lawn service. Trolling the net. Never been with a woman............

Well now its time to say good ridance by to Sid and all his crap.
And he would like to thank you folks fer kindly listening to him.
Sid You're not invited back a gain to this locality
You have been a heapin A hole and taken advantage of their hospitality

Imbecile that is. Get a life, Take a bath.

He'll come back now, y'hear?.
What else does the loser have to do?

Really....? Really....? And U have the nerve to ask me if I have anything better to do? LMAO AT THE BIGGEST GATOR LOSER SINCE....WELL U ARE. Well at least we know U weren't on any debate teams. Unless of course U haven't reached highschool yet. U should post as weird Al with parities like that. U get beat up alot dont U?

There is so much new info coming out on the whole Incognito-Martin saga. I've been reading it all, and it is obvious that it has all been taken out of context. Incognito has been made the scapegoat for Martin and the Dolphins' troubles. Wish Incognito the best.

Saying the N word in this country is the equivalent of descecrating Muhammad or the Koran in an Islamic country... at least if you're white.

The new info that came out suggests to me that Martin IS soft and wants to leave football but at the same time get his cash and that Incognito is indeed the scapegoat for the team.
Seems like this has been concocted between Martin's agent and his parents to get a payout and have him leave the game.
It is telling that every single player has come out on Incognito's side.
This story has nothing to do with racism and all the talking heads that called Incognito a racist are tools.
Most of the players are black and have no problem with what Incognito said or did. They were there, they know better than we do.
The only good thing to come out of this may be that we finally get rid of Jeff Ireland.

and we all know how whites feel about the quran in gainesville huh?

Sidcane, I don't live in Gainesville, I live in Miami (unlike you). I don't know how people feel about the Koran in G-ville or Miami, and I don't care. But personally, just to let you know, I wipe my butt with the Koran... every single page of it.

As Kenny Powers says in Season 4 of "Eastbound and Down": "I'm a good Christian white man." Actually, a good Christian Cuban-American white man, but whatever, same thang.

^^^^^

Wow, so a good Christian man desecrates another's holy book? Why, because your god is the right one? There have been over 10,000 gods worshipped by "modern" man and you think your christards have it right? Talk about arrogance and ignorance.

Fortunately, your x-tian god, like all gods, doesn't exist. You are no more "good" than any other mammal that has ever existed. Deal with it, cross-clutcher.

Deal with it?

Dog, I wipe my butt with your words. Your comments were worth a chuckle or two, but not serious consideration.

Jim Gallo, what do you know about "tolerance"? You're a middle aged loser who spends his life using middle school insults to mock anybody that dares to disagree with you or root for an opposing team. Homeboy, you're the definition of a hypocrite.

Take some time and study Socrates and Plato. Those cats believed in "absolute truths," their arch rivals, the Sophists, believed that there was no such thing as truth. Everything was relative to them, and as such, all that mattered was one's ability to win an argument, whether right or wrong.

I've thought about it for many years. I've come to the conclusion that I too, believe in absolute truth. I've researched many religions and to me, Christianity is the way.

I tolerate other views. I don't attack people on the street or insult them. But at the same time, I despise political correctness. These days, people lack the balls to say what they mean and stand up for what they believe in.

There's a double standard out there. If you mock Christianity, you're open-minded and liberal. But if you dare mock Islam or any non-Christian religion, you're prejudiced and hateful.

Screw that homeboy. That crazy pastor in G-ville, from the church with like 10 members... the guy that wants to burn the Koran... I totally support him.

If anybody wants to burn the Bible, I support their freedom to do so as well, even though I disagree with them.

So again, I use the Koran as sanitary paper.

Go preach your b.s. hypocrisy to somebody else, chump!

Stick to football and trash talk, boys. Stop with all the religion BS.

Told you Jim gallo is another of sid The Moron cane's personalities. This idiot has been talking to himself on our blog the whole year. What a loser.

BTW, agree with SUICYCO all the way. Moron go post bullcrap somewhere else. Not even in the cane blog do they agree with you. Lonely loser.
