Fowler, Hargreaves III earn first-team honors

GAINESVILLE -- The Southeastern Conference released the 2014 coaches’ preseason all-conference teams Thursday, and Florida had seven players selected including star cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III and defensive end Dante Fowler Jr.

Hargreaves and Fowler earned deserved first-team honors, while no player from Florida’s offense was named to the first team.

Right tackle Chaz Green was selected to the second-team offense, and junior offensive tackle D.J. Humphries and tailback Matt Jones were third-team picks.

Lastly, junior linebacker Antonio Morrison was a third-team linebacker, while sixth-year senior Andre Debose was the coaches’ third return specialist.

Alabama and LSU led all squads with 11 selections.

The real question: Which players will earn honors at season’s end?

My guess: VG3, Fowler Jr., Debose, TE Jake McGee, DE Jon Bullard and just maybe, QB Jeff Driskel.

Y'alls turn.
