Joseph Goodman - Miami Herald sportswriter

Joseph Goodman lives in Gainesville and covers the Florida Gators and other north-central Florida sporting events for The Miami Herald. He began working for The Herald in 2005 as a high school sports reporter in Broward County. Joseph started covering the University of Florida in 2007.

A graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Joseph studied journalism and English. He has covered several major sporting events for The Herald, including the Super Bowl, the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs, MLB spring training, the men’s and women’s Final Four, the Heisman Trophy ceremony, the Orange Bowl and NASCAR races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Joseph also enjoys writing about other sports such as soccer, swimming, water polo, bull riding, beach volleyball and gymnastics.

Joseph enjoys playing soccer in his spare time, writing short stories, hiking and canoeing with his wife and three children and teaching his dog, Guinness, how to chase squirrels. Guinness, an American mutt, was born in Miami-Dade County but was rescued from the Broward County Humane Society.
