Can the Arts change people's minds about gay issues?

Can arts/culture change people's minds, influence votes, create solidarity, and empower marginalized communities? On Tuesday, June 20, six panelists discussed how their art and arts organizations has made changes in lives here in Florida and nationally.

The panel for Arts as Activism in the Gay Community, moderated by Miami Herald staff writer Steve Rothaus: Steve Adkins, Gay & Lesbian Chamber; Cindy Brown, Miami Light Project; Gary Keating, Miami Gay Men’s Chorus; Robert Rosenberg; Filmmaker; and Bishop S.F. Ma-hee, Activist/Artist.

The free panel, at St. John’s Church, 4760 Pine Tree Dr., Miami Beach, was part of 8-panel series created by the Arts at St. Johns on arts as activism in South Florida.
