Can arts/culture change people's minds, influence votes, create solidarity, and empower marginalized communities? On June 20, Tuesday, 7-9 pm, six panelists will talk about how their art and arts organizations have made changes in lives here in Florida and nationally.
The panel for Arts as Activism in the Gay Community will be moderated by Steve Rothaus, Miami Herald columnist and reporter. The panel includes Steve Adkins, Gay & Lesbian Chamber; Cindy Brown, Miami Light Project; Gary Keating, Miami Gay Men’s Chorus; Robert Rosenberg; Filmmaker; and Bishop S.F. Ma-hee, Activist/Artist.
The panel is free, open to public, and will be held at the St. John’s Church, 4760 Pine Tree Drive, Miami Beach.
This discussion is part of 8-panel series created by the Arts at St. Johns on arts as activism in South Florida.
