Stratton Pollitzer Named Deputy Director of Equality Florida

TAMPA - Equality Florida announced both the promotion of Stratton Pollitzer as the organization’s Deputy Director and his recent election to the position of Vice-Chair of Equality Federation, a national coalition of more than 40 statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy organizations. Stratton’s election as Vice-Chair occurred last week in Boston during the Annual Meeting of Equality Federation.

As Vice-Chair of Equality Federation, Stratton will help lead the efforts of a national coalition focused on promoting and strengthening state-level organizations with a commitment to equality and justice for LGBT Americans.

“From marriage to adoption to safe schools policies, the most important campaigns for equality are happening in the states, and the Equality Federation is a tremendous resource for ensuring every state’s LGBT organization is strong and effective,” said Stratton.

Stratton’s election comes just a week after Equality Florida’s Board of Directors named him Deputy Director. He formerly held the dual titles of Statewide Field Director and Assistant Executive Director. The new title was intended to recognize Stratton's continued and growing role in guiding the organization, both across the state and at the national level.

“It is one of my greatest pleasures to have worked so closely with Stratton over the history of our organization,” said Equality Florida Executive Director, Nadine Smith. “His commitment to our work is unsurpassed and his contributions have made our success possible here in Florida. I am confident he will bring that same passion and determination to the national stage.”

Equality Federation’s member organizations cover 40 states and work in collaboration to promote and strengthen statewide grassroots organizing and advocacy for LGBT communities.
