U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen attended the first social event of Miami's new Log Cabin Republicans club, held Sunday at the Miami Shores home of club Vice President Omar Cassola.
Ros-Lehtinen told club members that she is committed to helping defeat Florida's Amendment 2, which if passed in November would ban gay marriages, civil unions and state-recognized domestic partnerships.

Great seeing you again at the U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen fund raising party. Its unfortunate that gay democrats are so intolerant and hateful. Gay Democrats cannot see other gay members of our community working for gay rights within the Republican Party. Of course we don't share their hateful Stalinist, Maoist and Castroist totalitarian ideology. Like President Thomas Jefferson insisted by adding the Bill of Rights, we stand for more freedom in the board rooms and the bedrooms, we stand for optimism for having the opportunity to reach our highest potential and not the bigotry of low expectations, class hatred, lack of competition, big government and military defeat that American liberal Democrats, Socialists and Communists are pushing around the World.
