Town Hall Meeting With Broward School Officials
Monday Oct. 27, 6:30 – 8:30 pm at SunServe (campus of the Sunshine Cathedral MCC, 1480 SW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale)
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR FAMILIES!

FOR PARENTS: We will be meeting with representatives of all four regions of the Broward School district from the offices of Social Work and Family Counseling. These departments in the Broward School system have agreed to make their staff contact points for GLBT families and all the Broward Public Schools. They are coming to hear our concerns and to tell us how they can help us build bridges to get the best support for our families in every school in the school district. This is an incredibly important opportunity to build relationships with persons of influence in the education of our children. Come, tell them what we need, and listen to all that they can do to help us in the schools.
FOR KIDS: HALLOWEEN FUN!!! They can come in costumes!! They will have their own simultaneous gathering under the care of the same team of child psych grad students from NSU that facilitates kids’ activities at our annual conference.

Nov. 24th “Maybe Baby? A practical guide to starting or extending a family”
Our guests, Elizabeth Schwartz, Esq. and a panel of “experts,” will moderate a discussion about the practical, legal (documents) and financial implications for GLBT parents who are thinking about having children. Drawing on their highly successful session at the 2008 Valuing Our Families Day, the team will be there to help prospective parents work their way through the questions and issues that they may have. ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT HAVING A FAMILY TO COME TO THIS VERY IMPORTANT MEETING. AND BE THERE TO HELP THEM WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE AND WISDOM!!
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14th will be the Annual South Florida Family Pride Party at the GLCC in Fort Lauderdale. It is an event not to be missed. Our families come together in one big extended family and everyone has a blast!!!
