Alibi’s Land Sharks softball opener Sunday in Fort Lauderdale

News release from Adam Sanders:

The Alibi Land Sharks will take the field for a doubleheader this Sunday, March 1 at Fort Lauderdale’s Mills Pond Park to begin the South Florida Amateur Athletic Association’s (SFAAA) spring season. The Land Sharks will take on Bill’s Bombers at 2:00 p.m., and conclude with a 3:00 p.m. game against the Sluggers. Both games are scheduled to take place on Field 2.

Georgie’s Alibi, the proud and long time sponsor of the Alibi Land Sharks, will host an opening day league after party immediately following the games at 4:00 p.m. Georgie’s Alibi is located at 2266 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL 33305. Visit www.georgiesalibi.com.

The Land Sharks finished in first place with a 16-7 record, including tournament and the playoff games, during the fall 2008 season.   If the Land Sharks finish in first place during the 14 game season beginning Sunday, they will qualify to represent the SFAA A’s D Division in the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAA) softball World Series this summer in Milwaukee.

Regular season games are played each Sunday at Mills Pond Park in Fort Lauderdale. Visit www.sfaaa.net for scheduling and other league information. If you are interested in joining the Alibi Land Sharks, contact team manager Adam Sanders at adamisanders@aol.com.
