SFGN: Oops! Washington Post, Toronto Sun duped into reporting Britney Spears is greatest gay icon

duped2 South Florida Gay News says that The Washington Post and Toronto Sun were both duped into reporting that Britney Spears has been named the gay community's greatest gay icon:

After SFGN reported Saturday that the Washington Post and Toronto Sun may have relied on a fake news story about Britney Spears being named the gay community’s greatest Gay icon, the author of the story has responded to SFGN repeated attempts to reach him.

But it still took several back and forth e-mails between Publisher of SFGN Norm Kent and [Examiner blogger Fernando] Palazzo for him to reveal a website of the group he relied on in several of his articles. It turns out the website is actually nothing more than a WordPress blog titled “Orange County Equality Project,” authored by a blogger named Joel Waddell. Waddell is the “source” of the Palazzo posting picked up by the mainstream media.
