Christian Family Coalition 'proud to join the chorus of voices publicly thanking' Diana Cardenas

An open letter from the Christian Family Coalition responding to Diana Cardenas' comments on Facebook about gay people:

Dear Mrs. Cardenas:

The directors, members and staff of the Christian Family Coalition (CFC), Florida's tireless human rights and social advocacy organization, uniting over 250,000 common-sense, fair-minded, pro-Life, pro-Family Florida voters, are proud to join the chorus of voices publicly thanking you for your honest and accurate statements in support of Marriage and the Family.

Your statements correctly allude to the ugly extremism displayed by the partisans of the fringe Homosexualist  ideology, an ideology bent on forcing society to “celebrate” homosexual behavior. It is an ideology that seeks to impose on all of us the normalization of the abnormal.

In upholding and respecting normality, common-sense, and the common good, you have expressed nothing for which you should retract or apologize. As the famous English author George Orwell wrote, "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

While some may consider your statements revolutionary, fair-minded and responsible citizens find them most sensible, reasonable and refreshingly true. Your statements also help alleviate the sufferings of everyone, young and old, victimized by the hate, bigotry, discrimination and intolerance so brazenly displayed by the signers of the disrespectful and menacing “Open Letters” against you.

Keep in mind that homosexualist extremists such as Mike Kenny and Herb Sosa do not, by any stretch of the imagination, represent the vast majority of civil, discreet, and nonviolent homosexual men and women, who abhor exhibitionism, public scandal, and disrespect for society’s mores.

Fringe hate groups such as "Unity Coalition,” "Florida Together” and others like them continuously bully, intimidate and deceive the public everyday as to their ulterior motives: force society to compromise its moral values and ethical principles and irrationally “celebrate” homosexual behavior. These extremist groups lack authority and credibility to speak responsibly on these issues.

Their extremist agenda and antisocial ideology was resoundingly and overwhelmingly rejected in November 2008, when 62% of Florida voters said "YES" to Amendment 2, the Florida Marriage Amendment, which respects marriage and all of its benefits, as the union of one man and one woman.

These fringe groups are the true purveyors of hate, bigotry, and intolerance and their hypocrisy is now being exposed. They insist on censoring and silencing everyone that disagrees with them, showing that they are not interested in respectful debate or civil dialog. Their nasty “Open Letters” against you are simply another example of this.

Earlier this week they bullied the Wilton Manors Business Association (WMBA) and the entire city of Wilton Manors, Florida, into discriminating and disrespecting decorated war veteran and US Congressman Allen West by cancelling the event at which the WMBA had invited him to speak. Their pretext for this discrimination and disrespect? Cong. West’s patriotic support of the institution of Marriage as properly defined by Florida’s Constitution.

So much for homosexualist, so-called “support” of equality, fairness and patriotism!

As always, the Christian Family Coalition (CFC) will gladly work with you and all other fair-minded Floridians, in a spirit of unity, understanding and love, to demand universal respect for the time-honored institutions of Marriage and the Family. We invite you to attend one of our many community workshops and learn how we are working to secure greater appreciation and respect for the moral values, ethical principles, and civic virtues upon which our great nation was founded.

With warmest regards and abundant blessings for you and your family,

The Board of Directors of the Christian Family Coalition, (CFC)

GOOD AS YOU ..... GAY

They hate this concept --- they need to keep others down.

It's amazing to me that they can't see the disconnect between their insistence on "unity, understanding and love" and their exclusionary ideology that bars the gay community from enjoying true equality--and the effort to "save marriage" shouldn't start with banning gay marriage, it should start with outlawing divorce (except in cases with domestic violence or other extreme reasons). Tied into this is the idea of gay adoption--why, in a world with so many abandoned, unloved children, are gay couples prevented from marrying and trying to love and protect these outcast children? Certainly, any rational adult must see that having gay parents is better than having none at all, regardless of whether or not said rational adult supports homosexuality.

Moreover, the term "homosexualist" severely bothers me--I realize that there are a small number of gay people out there who are way too eager to label everyone else "homophobic," but adding "-ist" to "homosexual" seems like an attempt to convince gays and lesbians that their preferences are merely caused by ignorance or perversion, like a "racist" or a "misogynist."
