Andrew Embiricos, 25-year-old grandson of screen siren Rita Hayworth, apparently killed himself in a New York City apartment. Police say a friend found him Sunday night with a plastic bag over his head, according to The New York Post.
Hayworth, who starred in the films Gilda, Cover Girl and Pal Joey, died at 68 of Alzheimer's disease in 1987. Embiricos was the son of Hayworth's daughter, Yasmin Aga Khan.
According to The New York Daily News, Embiricos worked with Alzheimer's and HIV/AIDS groups. He also led a double life, appearing in amateur porn videos posted on XTube.
Village Voice columnist Michael Musto reports that Embiricos had battled HIV, had been in rehab "more than once" and had previously tried to kill himself.

May he be allowed to rest in peace. Here's my tribute to my friend Andrew: http://dasteepsspeaks.blogspot.com/2011/12/keep-flying.html
