Hundreds of moviegoers packed the Colony Theatre on Lincoln Road Friday night for the opening of the 14th annual Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
The festival presented country music star Chely Wright with its first Lavender Heart Award; former festival board member Mark "Marky G" Gilbert received the festival's Angel Award.
The festival showed Kawa as its opening night presentation and a party followed at The Well on 41st Street in Miami Beach.
Saturday's films: Wright's autobiographical documentary Wish Me Away, Gun Hill Road, Vito, Ballroom Rules, Kiss Me, The Adored and Morgan. Check the festival program schedule for times and locations.
