Mallory Wells, 26, Equality Florida's public policy director based in Gainesville, has been named to The Advocate's 2012 Forty Under 40 list of "budding powerhouses, leaders in media, politics, sports, and science."
From The Advocate:
Mallory Wells knows the people of Florida. Born in Lakeland, raised in Orlando, now living in Gainesville, the 26-year-old bisexual is the only lobbyist in Tallahassee solely devoted to LGBT issues.

It is too bad that Mallory and.or Equality Florida keeps telling the media (and LGBT Floridians) that the Florida Legislature passed "an LGBT-inclusive antibullying bill".
That is simply not true.
Florida's anyibullying law -- The Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up for All Students Act is found at Section 1006.147, Florida Statutes.
Here's a link: http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=1000-1099/1006/Sections/1006.147.html.
As you can see, there is no reference anywhere in the law to "sexual orientation", "gender identity" or gender expression".
I'm surprised the fact checkers at The Advocate did not bother to check this out.
It is a shame that after all these years, the Florida Legislature still has no pro-LGBT legislation since 1991 when the Legislature included "sexual orientation: in the Hate Crimes Act .
