Hollywood City Manager Douglas Hewett was charged with driving under the influence after leaving Swinging Richards, a gay male strip club in Northeast Miami-Dade last month.
The arrest was made public Friday.
Hewett had been on the job just six weeks when the incident occurred.
“At the time of the incident, I advised each member of the City Commission who expressed their concerns about this serious matter,” Hewett wrote in an e-mail Friday, declining to elaborate further.
Disgusting. He should be fired immediately.

Why did a month pass between the time he was arrested and the time it appeared in the press?
