Setting the record straight: Queen Latifah says she wasn't coming out with her gay pride performance

Long-rumored to be a lesbian, Queen Latifah performed May 19 at the 29th annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride celebration.

"Finally, it's time she did something for the gay community, with her being a lesbian and all," gushed one male fan in the video featured here. "Yes, I said it, but I'm really excited to see her perform."

"I have a crush on her, but don't tell my girlfriend," confided a woman.

Two weeks later, Cover Girl Latifah sets the record straight, that she did not come out as a lesbian at gay pride:

“That definitely wasn’t the case,” she tells Entertainment Weekly. “I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.”
