Gay former Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Dean Trantalis seeking election to his old seat on dais

Dean Trantalis, Fort Lauderdale's first openly gay city commissioner who served one term between 2003 and 2006, is running again for his old seat.

Trantalis, an attorney in Wilton Manors who unsuccessfully ran for Fort Lauderdale mayor in 2008, will hold a campaign kickoff featuring Harvey Milk's nephew Stuart Milk 6:30 p.m. Thursday at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale:

I am always glad to see qualified candidates who happen to be gay. However, I was disappointed to see him standing along side Harvey Milk's nephew Stuart. It seems
Stuart is building a political empire "Milking" his Uncle's name.
