Early voting is underway in Miami-Dade County and here are the endorsements from SAVE Dade Action PAC, Equality Florida Action PAC and the Christian Family Coalition.

Danell Leyva of Homestead won a a bronze medal last week at the 2012 Olympic Games, along with gymnastics fans the world over.
Many of his fans are gay men, according to websites including Queerty and Towleroad.
Google Leyva's name, click "images" and you'll find lots of photos of him training, performing -- and posing for his iPhone -- usually shirtless, sometimes dressed in even less.
Deadspin has posted a gallery of Leyva pics, warning some are "kinda NSFW."
Orgullo Hispanic LGBT Pride Festival sponsors dance contests throughout August, September
Orgullo, the Hispanic LGBT Pride Festival on Oct. 6 in Miami Beach is sponsoring Salsa Dance Contests through September. The first is Monday night at MOVA Lounge off Lincoln Road.

Chavela Vargas, famed Mexican singer who came out as a lesbian at age 81, dies at 93 (with video)

MEXICO CITY -- Chavela Vargas, who defied gender stereotypes to become one of the most legendary singers in Mexico, died Sunday at age 93.
Her friend and biographer Maria Cortina said Vargas died at a hospital in the city of Cuernavaca, where she had been admitted for heart and respiratory problems.
Vargas rose to fame flouting the Roman Catholic country's preconceptions of what it meant to be a female singer: singing lusty "ranchera" songs while wearing men's clothes, carrying a pistol, drinking heavily and smoking cigars.
Though she refused to change the pronouns in love songs about women as some audiences expected, many of her versions of passionate Mexican folk songs are considered definitive.

A few messages emailed to me and posted on Facebook regarding the Chick-fil-A gay controversy, specifically Equality Florida's assertion that the company "has donated at least $5 million dollars to organizations whose primary focus is to dehumanize LGBT people and to pass laws that treat us as second-class citizens."

He has done nothing to gay's and lesbians to deserve such extreme action from organizations like yours. He has not spoken out in hate but only answered to a questioned the way he believes in. He has the right to his opinion without having groups and organizations like your take up aggression against him and his restaurant chain. If you want equal rights you aren't acting like it. In reality the true hate your groups speak of in fact comes from you. You should be ashamed of such extreme and uncalled for actions.

This guy Rothaus is a shameless liar, and I sincerely hope that Chick fil A President / CEO Cathy makes an example of him by suing Rothaus for slander. Imagine, accusing Cathy of donating money to organizations that dehumanize Lesbians, Gays, Bi-Sexual and Transgendered. Dehumanizing means what, not agreeing with a politically charged radical left wing position on what constitutes marriage. By simply holding to an alternative viewpoint the intolerant left levels hate allegations, and vile, slanderous, and presumptive invectives at good and decent Americans that simply hold to a different viewpoint. The Miami Herald has no absolutely no representative voice for any other viewpoints other then Counter Cultural, Anti-Christian, Anti-conservative, New Age and Radical Left Wing, rabble rousing slanderous nuts like Rothaus. When I say "nut", just read some of his articles from the past, replete with drama-queen assertions, spewing undercover hatred while trying to pretend there is a LGBT hater around every corner. Equality Forum based in Philadelphia has announced the 31 Icons for its 2012 annual LGBT History Month in October. Here's the news release:
“The 217 Icons, including the 31 Icons for 2012, demonstrate the impressive and diverse international impact of the LGBT community,” stated Malcolm Lazin, founder of LGBT History Month and Executive Director of Equality Forum.

Gay couple married in the United States celebrate with wedding banquet in Malaysia

Malaysian-born Ngeo Boon Lin and African-American husband Phineas Newborn III, quietly held the closed reception Saturday - complete with public kisses and karaoke ballad performances - with about 200 guests, including a handful of Chinese-language journalists who were asked not to report on the event until afterward.
The couple risked the ire of a government that has banned a gay arts festival, prosecuted a politician for sodomy and declared that homosexuality has no place in Malaysian society.
