Lesbian GOP activist Mimi Planas elected Miami-Dade County Community Council member

Lesbian activist Miriam "Mimi" Planas, co-chair of Log Cabin Republicans of Miami, on Tuesday was elected Miami-Dade County Community Council member for District 10.

Wow, woke up this morning and realized I am a Councilwoman for District 10!!!
Thank you God. Thank you to all of those who helped endlessly with this Campaign and those who cheered me on, gave me hope and inspired me to run again....I am just speechless and humbled.....ok maybe not speechless! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! It is an amazing day today....Mimi
