Mormon-owned Utah TV station refuses to air NBC's 'The New Normal' because of gay characters

From Buzz60:

KSLTV, a NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, has decided not to air "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy's new sitcom "The New Normal" because of what it calls "offensive characterization." The show is about a woman who decides to become a surrogate for a gay couple. Patrick Jones has more on KSLTV's decision and what the Mormon Church has to do with it.

Being black or left-handed or being gay is just as natural. It is a sometimes rare occurrence to fall in Love and to hold that person in your heart and be loved in return ... it is something that should be celebrated! If it’s between two guys or two girls -- all the better. It takes even more courage to defend that LOVE!

There is no scientific evidence to prove any of the cross related bogus elements of christianity and other religions. Our early human ancestors; on this earth … go back more than 6 million years … 5,996,000 years before the Greeks, Romans and the Jews. Christianity is basically a 2012 year old fictional cult. In the year 300 AD when Emperor Constantine, who to some was the first pope; went on to fabricate & market Christianity - a fantasy - which turned out to be one of the most hateful & evil concoctions ever perpetrated on the world. The evil writings in Leviticus 18:22 … against gays – depict: “P” … “priestly rules” & expanded by the pope; homophobes and religious frauds … to attack the gay community and never meant to apply to the public -- but to priests. Leviticus was written long after Moses -- 600BC.

The pope and churches fully aware that Leviticus 18:22 applies to priests only … refuse to remove this stigma … maliciously persecuting gays. Kids are being bullied into suicide …!

Churches are committing hate crimes and more succinctly a violent criminal offence against a federally protected minority namely the gay community. It is actually a bigger moment in history … gays standing up for equality & it is indeed exposing something far greater ... the realization that there is something far more evil at work -- hateful religion which should be discharged from society -- period.

Religion; is the biggest bully on the block!
Mormons are nothing more than homophobic bigots and lustful religious lunatics; who harvested women … attempting to scrutinize themselves; into eternity – without success!

Christianphobic much but let's not get into a religious debate. Lets just look at this scientifically. What is the purpose of nature. If you look at Darwinism and what today's science scene states. Survival of the fittest. Procreation is how a species is going to survive for future generations. Homosexuals cannot reproduce themselves. Therefore these type of people go against what nature truly intended. If this life style is against what nature teaches (survival) then we still have the debate is this a choice or are they born this way. Well if they are born this way and its against nature then it is a disease that can be cured. If it is a choice of behavior then because it goes against nature (survival) then the choice is unnatural (against nature) and therefore should not be practiced. I also say if you choose this lifestyle you should be informed about what that choice is going to affect your life span, chances of illness, and rates of suicides.

Mormoms are not homophobic we just have our beiefs just like gay advocates and gays do. If its okay for gays to stand up to what they believe and sometimes get what they're asking for, why is is not okay for those of the opposite opinion to do so? Why is it such a big deal to oppose but yet its okay for gays to have their "beliefs" or "rights" heard and kown.

@ oneshoes

First of, Homosexuality is not a "belief". And second, standing up for themselves does not infringe on your rights. However, your beliefs as a Morman INFRINGE ON THE RIGHTS OF HOMOSEXUALS.

Homosexuality is commonly found in nature. Rates of suicide are DIRECTLY related to scrutiny from peers, churches, society, etc. Ex. Comments like yours increase suicide rates of homosexuals. Chances of illness again related to lack of acceptance. (less knowledge available on how to protect themselves, more likely to "rebel" after scrutiny and have multiple partners.) Life span is affected by the increased rates of suicide and chance of illness.

A little research on a subject matter can go a long way towards making the world a better place for EVERYONE. (note. FOX news is not a valid research source)

That second paragraph was supposed to be @ "logic", not MACDONALD. New to posting on this site.

I support gay rights, but I also support the rights of business owners. It is a privately owned television station and therefore they have the right to air whatever they want. If LOGO (a LGBT network) refused to air Charly or A Marvelous Work or some other Mormon based material, no one would think anything of that decision. The network is a brand upholding what their brand stands for as would LOGO or any other privately owned company. I don't agree with their decision, but I own no stock in the company, therefore I have to support their right to do what they feel is best for their stockholders.

God made ADAM & EVE!!!!!!

The Mormon "God" changed his mind about polygamy at the turn of the 20th century. "God" changed his mind about Black people in 1978. "God" will change his mind about his gay children in 20?? ?

Until then, fear and bigotry remains in the narrow-minds and dark hearts of the "Faithful" and they will prevent anyone else in their community from watching. Haven't they ever heard of changing the channel if THEY don't want to watch?
