Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, who came from the Philippines to the United States at age 12 and discovered four years later that his green card was not legal,will speak Monday, Oct. 1, at Florida International University's Biscayne Bay Campus.
Vargas, who is gay, was part of a Pulitzer team at The Washington Post that reported the Virginia Tech shootings in 2007.
In June 2011, he revealed in The New York Times that he is an undocumented immigrant and founded Define American, a project aimed at discussing the DREAM Act and other immigration issues.
