Miami's Andrew Tobias, treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, on Tuesday addressed the party's presidential convention.
Tobias, a finance writer, authored the 1973 book The Best Little Boy in the World, about growing up gay. The book, written under the pseudonym John Reid, remains in print. Twenty five years later, Tobias wrote a sequel, The Best Little Boy in the World Grows Up, and publicly announced he is gay.
In 1999, Tobias became treasurer of the Democratic National Committee.
