Miamiartzine anniversary at Botanical Garden 2012-11-19 015

Publisher Harvey Burstein's online Miamiartzine celebrated its seventh anniversary Monday with a party at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.

The celebration, dubbed "Salsa in the Garden" with entertainment by provided by KCC Productions and art by Maria Rivas, honored three community stalwarts: Joseph Adler of GableStage, Jaie Laplante of Miami International Film Festival and dancer-choreographer Ana Bolt.

Miamiartzine is a publication of Miami Beach Arts Trust, founded in 1999 as a 501 (C)(3) organization by the city of Miami Beach 'with the primary goal of providing awareness of and funding for the Arts."

"In 2002, at the recommendation of the City Manager, the Trust separated from the City and became a stand-alone organization," according to the trust website.

These are the trust board members:

Harvey J. Burstein, Chair
Pioneer Winter, Vice Chair
Manal Oliver, Treasurer
Pietro Bonacossa, Secretary
Kimberly C. Chmura
Christopher Gorman
Roger Martin
Dr. Jules Oaklander
