Kiki, from the Urban Dictionary: A party including good music and good friends, held for the express purpose of calming nerves, reducing anxiety and stress and generally fighting ennui. May involve locked doors, tea and salacious gossip.
Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, Promises, Promises) on Friday night joined newlyweds Rubem Robierb and Sam Champion for a "kiki" in her honor at the Miami Beach home of theater producer-director Richard Jay-Alexander.
Jay-Alexander directed Chenoweth's recent North America tour. Chenoweth, music conductor Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Jay-Alexander are in South Florida preparing for future engagements.
Also at the party: Songwriter-musician Desmond Child, partner Curtis Shaw and their twin sons Nyro and Roman; music producer-songwriter Jodi Marr and her niece, Sheree Ackerman; WSVN-Channel 7 co-anchor Belkys Nerey; WTVJ-Channel 6 Assistant News Director Chad Matthews and station Creative Service Director Jose Suarez; Edison Farrow and Nestor Paz; Miami Herald writer Howard Cohen; James Davis (AKA Elaine Lancaster); salon owner Frank Ricigliano; Ara Kazarian; Bibi Andrade; and my partner, public relations executive Ric Katz.
