Keith Haring was one of the 20th Century's most iconic artists, working in a sharp, energetic style that has become an enduring part of the American visual language. The celebrated pop artist, who died in 1990 at the age of 31, rose to fame with his graphic, thick-bordered human figures, which became some of the most recognizable symbols of New York City's downtown art scene in the 1980s. Haring's work ranged from graffiti in New York's subways to pieces in some of the world's most important museums. This retrospective -- hosted by world renowned art collector Martin Margulies and promoter Lee Schrager at the Design District's Moore Building -- brings together over 200 of Haring's works for the first time ever, including many from private collections that have never before been seen in public.

In honor of Haring’s steadfast commitment to AIDS activism, a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to charity.

I went to see the exhibit today, after driving 2hrs from SWFL. I got my money back from the exhibitors after arguing that over 90% of the work is clearly FAKE. Any idiot with a little bit of art knowledge, or at least an understanding of KA's work, would determine these "works of art" as worthless, really a waste of canvas. Hey market this as a POP Art exhibit with works inspired by KA an do not insult our intelligence. Some of the work on the upper floor (I agree that about a dozen of the works on the Ground Floor were authentic prints) even had fake KA signatures on them. Come on... On the 3rd floor, much warmer and humid, the canvas would even curl. Such bad quality. Can you imagine anyone treating works of art worths 100s of thousands of dollars that way? Anyways, dont waste your money by going. If you got the Groupon deal, ask for a refund you will get it.
