Pridelines Youth Services for LGBT young people to hold '10 in 10' fundraiser beginning March 11

Pridelines Youth Services will soon launch its annual fundraising campaign, "10 in 10," in which the LGBT youth group will seek to raise $10,000 in 10 days.

Here are the details from Pridelines:

Pridelines Youth Services today announced its fourth annual “10 in 10” fundraising campaign that seeks to raise $10,000 in donations in 10 days between March 11 and March 21, 2013. Donations secured during the “10 in 10” campaign will help South Florida’s oldest LGBT youth serving agency expand its drop-in center services to meet the emerging needs of the local community.

“This year, the success of this campaign is essential to our success as an organization. We face an alarming rise in the youth we serve who are homeless or victims of bullying,” said Victor Diaz-Herman, executive director of Pridelines. “We are currently the de facto emergency shelter for LGBTQ youth in the county and we must expand our space to be able to provide them with beds and support in a safe, nurturing environment.”

In addition to housing, the money raised during the “10 in 10” campaign will allow the organization to provide daily hot meals to youth and emergency services for at-risk youth such as HIV/STI testing, suicide prevention and career services.

Pridelines youth activities also include special events such as CampOUT, Gay Disney, GSA Picnics, the annual same-sex “Youth Prom” and marching in the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade.

There are several ways to donate to Pridelines “10 in 10” fundraising campaign.  Donate online at www.pridelines.org; email a pledge to Victor@pridelines.org; mail a donation check to P.O. Box 014340, Miami, Florida 33101; or call the Pridelines office to make arrangements at (305) 571-9601.
