Republican National Committee unanimously votes for party to continue opposing same-sex marriage

Responds Gregory T. Angelo, executive director of the national Log Cabin Republicans:

No one was expecting the GOP to change its platform position on marriage at this meeting, but clearly those in opposition to equality feel threatened by the growing numbers of Republicans who support the freedom to marry. The GOP platform didn't stop Senator Portman from evolving, nor Senator Kirk, and any reaffirmation of the party platform isn't going to stop more Republicans from joining their colleagues on the right side of history.

Since they are so easily bought off by big corporations and the NRA ... this should come as no surprise. Divide and conquer seems to have hit them below the belt.

Carollo total jerk. What's wrong with baby steps toward " marriage?" Domestic partnerships, etc.? A calculated step at a time. Be smart.
