A benefit will be held Thursday night at Score on Lincoln Road to help pay funeral expenses for Florida drag queen Wanda, who was slain a week ago in Tampa.

Wanda, whose real name was Anthony Jerome Lee, was shot to death on May 28. She still hasn't been buried.

"Hopefully they'll raise enough money and we'll have wake on Friday and the funeral on Saturday at 11 o'clock," said his sister, Barbara Lee-Thomas.

My brother used to go there all the time," Lee-Thomas said.

Another benefit will be held Thursday night in Tampa at Hamburger Mary's restaurant.

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for all his friends," Lee-Thomas said. "They're stepping up in a big way."

After the slaying, reports from Tampa indicated Wanda, 49, may not have been the intended victim.

Lee-Thomas said police have not given her any new information about the ongoing investigation into Wanda's death.
