Fourth annual LGBT Senior Health Expo 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Pride Center in Wilton Manors

The Pride Center’s fourth annual LGBT Senior Health Expo will be held from 10am -2pm on Saturday, October 19th at The Pride Center, 2040 North Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors.  The Expo will again provide Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) seniors with a unique, comprehensive overview of available healthcare services.  Over fifty LGBT-friendly medical, professional, support and financial providers in the fields of healthcare, aging and geriatrics will showcase their services and products through this popular event.

Registered vendors are dedicated to serving seniors healthfully and will provide valuable information on Senior Living Facilities, Insurance Coverage, Home Health Care Agencies, Legal Issues and a wide assortment other areas affecting our senior community.

The Man Van and The Cardiac Van will be available thanks to Broward Health Imperial Point and HEALTHFAIR.  Flu shots and medical testing for hearing, sight, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, HIV and more will be available.  The expo also will feature a variety of practical, engaging educational seminars focus on the needs of the LGBT senior population.  Seminar topics will include:  Breast & Prostate Screenings: To Test or Not To Test; Enhance Fitness Exercise Programming; Federal Rights, Hospitalization Rights, Estate and Asset Protection; and Everything You Wanted To Know From ObamaCare to Medicare.

The event is completely free,  including coffee and pastries provided by Stork’s  and a complimentary lunch to the first 250 attendees.
