New Medicaid rules will allow more to qualify


It's not Medicaid expansion, but new eligibility guidelines will allow more low-income people nationwide to get coverage under Medicaid. 

Among the guidelines, "Savings accounts, a car and child support will no longer count against eligibility," reported the Orlando Sentinel. 

"'In Florida, the changes should allow more people to be eligible for Medicaid,'" Greg Mellowe, policy director at Florida CHAIN, a non-profit helping Floridians get healthcare, told Health News Florida. Read more.
