Miami-Dade College to host student health insurance workshop Saturday

With the Affordable Care Act enrollment deadline coming up March 31, Miami-Dade College offers an opportunity for students to cram on the all-important questions: What does this have to do with me, and what are my options?

The Saturday health insurance enrollment workshop will feature organizers from the Get Covered America Campaign, the Health Council of South Florida and others to answer questions and help people see if they're qualified for subsidized health plans. About half of single young adults can find a plan that costs less than $50 a month or less, and two-thirds can find a plan that costs $100 per month or less, according to Get Covered America staff.

Those who are ready to enroll can walk away from the workshop with coverage that begins March 1.
