I just returned from Booker T. practice and am ready to answer your questions live for the next hour.
The Dade blog will begin live sessions like these Tuesdays at 7 p.m. during the football season, preceding the Eye on the U session by Manny Navarro from 8-9 p.m.
Let's hear ya

Q: What about the Belen-Columbus game?
A: What about it?
Nah, just kidding. I think as always it's going to be an event. In order for it to be a close game, Belen needs to grind out the clock with their style of offense. Unfortunately for Belen, this might again be a little one-sided in Columbus' favor.

About the Northwestern-Southlake Carroll game, I think the Massey ratings and point totals mean nothing, since neither team faced the same competition.
NW looks better on paper. Southlake Carroll runs a great system. It comes down to handling the distractions of a nationally-hyped game and the elements of playing on the road in front of 20,000 partisan Texas fans.

Regarding Michael Dallas of La Salle. He is one of my top-rated sophomores in the state along with Sam Miller.
Maybe this year, they'll both make All-Dade. Last year, only Miller got the necessary votes from coaches.

What is your prediction for the summerville vs btw game?

Do you think Chaminade and St. Thomas will ever meet on the gridiron? If not, why not?

BTW 24, Summerville 23

GREETINGS AND GOD BLESS YOU. WHY IS IT THAT ALL THE FLORIDA NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS. NORTHWESTERN, BOOKER T WASHINGTON AND PAHOKEE HAVE TO GO OUT OF THE STATE IN ORDER TO PLAY THE COMPETITION. THIS SEEMS VERY SUSPECT TO ME. PSALMS 121

Laura,
That would be a tremendous rivalry, but Bob Emanuel knows those teams better than I do so I'll relay your question to him.

Rick,
From speaking to some of the marketing people putting these games together, one big reason, unfortunately, is Hurricane season.
Florida is still considered to be a major danger zone for hurricanes and therefore cancellation of these big games.

Aww shucks, guess I missed it. Some people have to work for a living.
Happy New Year Dre.

A: Let me help my tag team partner here on this one. Poor 'Dre is waking up at the crack of dawn. (I slept until 10 today.)
Sorry, had to tweak him a bit. To answer your question Laura, I doubt it.
St. Thomas would accomplish next to nothing in this game. Sure, it would be a huge rivalry game, but the Raiders would be expected to win. It's a Class 5A school versus a Class 2A school. So, if STA wins, people will say that's what should have happened. If STA loses, then people will laugh and taunt the Raiders for losing to a Class 2A school.
I just do not see it happening in the current environment any time soon.

u say that sta would kill chaminade. i play for chaminde and we definatly can beat sta. Not saying that Sta stinks, but we play Pahokke, Bookter T, and Monsignor Pace, which are all better or equal to STA.
Just cuz we a 2A school doesnt mean that were bad or anything. We play a lot of difficult teams, but u guys dont konw about that...
And even do our coach left, we still can beat u guys, especially when ur all star players all graduated..

I did not say STA would kill Chaminade. Please go back and read what I wrote.
I said the Raiders would gain nothing with a victory (because that would be expected by virtue of class size) and would be criticized for a loss.
