Telfort's decision will come soon

Gulliver Prep will play in its first state championship in eight years Saturday night in large part to 159 tackle season provided by linebacker Frankie Telfort. The 5-11, 205-pound senior had more than 35 college offers before he even started his senior season. Now, Dade's No. 2 recruit has dwindled his choices down to two -- Southern California and Florida.

Telfort told me Wednesday he loved L.A. and said it really reminded him of South Florida without the humidity. As for the Gators, he just loves where the program is headed -- toward another national championship. He said he expects to make a decision soon, after the state championship, after he sits down with his parents and makes up his mind. Telfort, who grew up admiring Ray Lewis, is scheduled to play in the Under-Armour All-American game in Orlando next month.

I knew this kid would be great one day. He's a great leader on and off the field, What ever college that gets this kid is getting a Myron Rolle to the 3rd power. This kid will do great things at the next level.

Congratulations! Just bring it home!

Why didn't Miami go after Telfort harder? This was a kid the staff should have been after from Day 1.

The U screwed up, it's a real shame. When U let the Gaytors and Trojans pick up one of u're best talent in u're back yard, it's a message the they are sending to the U.

The U didnt bother with him too much because he is too small for LB and not fast enough for DB. The U learned from Doug Wiggins mistake; need speed to play for da U!
