Calling high school football coaches, players

One of the things we have always done to help high school football players is to expose them to colleges across the country.

While we understand that there are some athletes not set for the Class of 2009, we are always willing to help by reviewing films and then sending to appropriate coaches/colleges who may be able to place an individual.

For the football players, headed into their sophomore (2011) or junior year (2010), we could help get the ball rolling for you as well.

Just forward a DVD and information about yourself, and we’ll get you on the map in one of our many ways we have in reaching colleges and college coaches.

High school coaches are also welcome to forward the same information, which helps expose your athletes in so many positive ways.

The information that is sent will also be helpful in getting ready for spring and summer as the Miami Herald once again has jumped to the front of high school recruiting in the state of Florida.

Just send the information to:

Carter chooses West Virginia

Ever since last year at this time, when his teammate Patrick (Johnson) Peterson had a national spotlight on him when he chose to attend LSU, Ely defensive back Michael Carter, who once considered the University of Miami, like Peterson, made it official to a national television audience on Saturday in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

“I will head to West Virginia,” said Carter, who joins fellow Broward County prospects Eugene Smith and Stedmon Bailey, and Northwestern running back Daquan Hargrett to become Mountaineers.

The 5-11, 160-pound defensive back, who had narrowed his choices down to Florida, Minnesota, Georgia and Miami, takes his talent to the Big East.

Carter joined a number of Floridians on the East team for the annual game, and while Plantation’s Brandon McGee had already cemented his decision to attend the University of Miami, Carter and Palm Beach Central linebacker Jon Bostic, both announced their decisions.

Bostic, a 6-2, 225-pound linebacker gave the Florida Gators his nod over Auburn, Tennessee, Miami, FSU and Clemson.
