McCullough headed to Iowa State

When North Marion head football coach Craig Damon talked about his upcoming class, there were a number of athletes he talked about.

From linemen Courtland Thomas and Michael Vannuci to safety Brandon Carr and quarterback Chuckie Looney, Damon was complimentary about them all. But one players seemed to standout from the rest.
“T.J. McCullough is a young man who can make a lasting impression,” Damon said. “His speed (4.47) and ability to play both receiver and defensive back.”

On Tuesday, Terraine “T.J.” McCullough told Iowa State that he will be a Cyclone, and the 6-2, 190-pounder, who will be a three-year starter this season for the Colts, ended speculation that also included in state schools FAU, UCF and FIU, as well as Rutgers.

“It’s a great fit for T.J.,” said Charles Fishbein of Elite Scouting Services. “We had the opportunity to watch him play over the past few years and his speed and ability to make plays really stood out.”

McCullough is the first player Iowa State received a commitment from in Florida so far this year, but the Cyclones do have Floridians David Sims (Gainesville), Kennard Banks (Dwyer), Allen Bell (Tallahassee Rickards), Josh Raven (Cape Coral Mariner), Jansen Watson (Kissimmee Osceola), Deon Broomfield (Palm Bay Bayside), Leonard Johnson (Largo), Bo Williams (Oakland Park Northeast), Jeremiah Schwartz (Orlando Edgewater), Earl Brooks (Deerfield Beach), Roosevelt Maggit (Dwyer), Kevin Hamlin (Dwyer), Willie Scott (Orlando Jones), Scott Haughton (Sanford Seminole) and Donnie Jennert (St. Cloud) on the roster.
