One of the most popular things we did last year after each weekend of the state football playoffs was to come up with a look at the top teams and players from that weekend.
This past weekend at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B champions were crowned. Here is a look at the way the teams stacked up as well as the top players in the four games, courtesy of the Miami Herald and Elite Scouting Services.

QB - Darius Millines, 6-2, 182, Sr., American Heritage Delray: The West Virginia-bound standout finished with 22 carries for 197 yards and 4 touchdowns.
RB - Kelvin Taylor, 5-10, 210, So., Glades Day: Fred Taylor’s son dazzled in the 1B title game with 217 yards and 4 touchdowns on 42 carries
RB - Chevelle Buie, 5-9, 175, Jr., Cocoa: Was a one-man offensive show with 215 yards and two scores in the 2A title game.
RB - Hank McCloud, 5-8, 180, Sr., Tampa Catholic: The speedy back ran for 195 yards in a 2B title game loss.
WR - Greg Dent, 6-0, 175, Sr., Glades Central: This FSU-bound standout caught five balls for 105 yards in a 2A title game setback.
WR - Kelvin Benjamin, 6-6, 215, Jr., Glades Central: The rest of the state finally had the chance to watch one of the elite 2011 players, who had 4 catches for 67 yards.
OL - Ronald Patrick, 6-2, 270, Sr., Cocoa: Headed for the University of South Carolina, this quality blocker opened 353 yards worth of holes.
OL - Chaz Green, 6-6, 270, Sr., Tampa Catholic: One of the state’s premier two-way linemen, certainly lived up to his pre-game billing!
OL - John Theus, 6-5, 265, So., Jacksonville Bolles: Has been the player who has stepped up down the stretch and made an impact in the 2B title game.
OL - Josh Woods, 6-4, 280, Sr., Cocoa: Was yet another of the big bodied up front that paved the way for over 300 yards on the ground.
OL Nathan Theus, 6-3, 250, Jr., Jacksonville Bolles: Whether as a long snapper or on the line of scrimmage during the game, he was easily one of the better athletes.
PK - Cody Bell, 5-9, 145, Jr., Cocoa: Two field goals, three extra points made quite a difference for the two-time state champions.
DL - Marcus Bush, 6-0, 180, Jr., Warner Christian: In the 1B overtime loss, he registered 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss and 8 total tackles.
DL - Ra’Sahwde Myers, 6-3, 205, Sr., Cocoa: This Colorado State-bound standout came up with 2 sacks and 6 total tackles in the 2A title game.
DL - Isiah Corbett, 6-1, 250, Sr., Glades Central: After coming over from Royal Palm Beach this season, all this quality athlete has done is perform, In the 2A title game, he came up with 8 tackles.
DL - Tyrell Denson, 5-10, 175, So., Cocoa: All this standout did from his defensive end position was come up with 3 sacks, 2 quarterback pressures and 7 tackles.
LB - Antonio Wallace, 5-10, 175, Jr., Cocoa: In forcing several turnovers, this impressive athlete got into the act for the Tigers with 5 tackles and an interception for a touchdown.
LB - Tyler Posey, 5-10, 210, Sr., American Heritage Delray: His impressive play all over the field resulted is 6 tackles in the 1A title game.
LB - Dominic Gibson, 5-10, 175, So., Glades Central: Capped off a tremendous season for the Raiders with 4 tackles, 2 for loss in the first setback of the season.
DB - J.T Thornton, 6-0, 170, Jr., Glades Day: After a solid year, this quality football player saved one of his best games for last with 2 interceptions and 4 tackles.
DB - Taylor Oldham, 6-1, 170, So., Warner Christian: Was all over the field in the 1A title game with 1 interception, 1 pass breakup and 8 total tackles.
DB - Breon Allen, 5-8, 165, Jr., Warner Christian: This two-way standout got it done on both sides of the ball, but on defense, he came up with 10 tackles and 1 crucial early pass breakup.
DB - Rick Rivers, 6-0, 175, Jr., Cocoa: Yet another Tiger underclassman who stepped up in the game with 8 tackles and 1 interception.
P - Kyle Richardson, 6-1, 180, Sr., Jacksonville Bolles: Was one of the main reasons the Bulldogs won for the second straight year with a 40.3 yard average that backed Tampa Catholic up all game.
