Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will shine the spotlight on many athletes during the spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: After losing a few players to other schools, this program needed some positive news, and with gifted football player, they may have received it.

No matter where he has gone in the off season, this is an athlete who has stood toe-to-toe against some of the elite players with his speed, athletic ability and knowledge of the position.

Has stepped up at the Nike and Elite Scouting Services events with excellent times and solid testing results. He has also turned heads during football drills as well.

Schools such as Indiana, USF, Marshall, Rutgers and Western Kentucky have taken notice during the spring as the summer fast approaches.
