HERALD SPOTLIGHT: Brandon Snell

Brandon Snell1
Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will shine the spotlight on many athletes during the spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.

PLAYER: Brandon Snell
YEAR: 2012
SCHOOL: Norland
CITY: Miami
POSITION: WR
HEIGHT: 5-11
WEIGHT: 170
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH: Daryl Heidelburg

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: If there was ever an off season that was kind to an athlete, it was this past spring and summer where this talented junior had the chance to pop up on the radar screen.

Whether it was with his Miami Norland team during the spring, at a number of 7-on-7 events, at Friday Night Lights in Gainesville or with the South Florida Express, where he had the chance to be a part of a team that captured a national title, this is definitely a player who made the most of his opportunity.

As a route runner, his patterns are crisp and often create mismatches. His athletic ability, quickness and knowledge of the game have certainly allowed him to jump to the head of the line when talking about future prospects.

Coaches who have watched him play believe he will be one of the top pass catchers in the class as the Vikings try to turn things around this season.
