Drayton, Holliman and Newberg on radio

Hsfootballpage1
It's all about all-star games this week on the Maroone High School Gridiron Report.

The first show of the year on Tuesday night (9-10) on WQAM (560 AM) takes a look at the Dade vs. Broward game, the Army All-American contest in San Antonio and the impressive Under Armour game in St. Petersburg.

Larry Blustein and Mike Levine will welcome in Fort Lauderdale Stranahan receiver/kickoff returner Anthony Drayton, Miami Southridge safety Gerrod Holliman and from the all new recruiting network 24/7, Josh Newberg.

DRAYTON LOOKING TO MAKE AN IMPACT
He has already proven what he could do during his senior season in high school, made a splash in the off season with a solid performance in the Broward All-Star event. Now, Drayton, who has schools such as Middle Tennessee State and Robert Morris looking in his direction will help the Broward All-Stars in the annual matchup with Dade.

The game, which will take place in Thursday night (7:00) at North Miami Stadium, will feature some of the best football players in the region.

With a positive showing, the speedy Drayton can make a statement!

GETTING IT DONE IN TEXAS
Along with locals Teddy Bridgewater (Northwestern) and Wayne Lyons (Dillard), Holliman can show the country that he is indeed one of the premier football players.

The quality safety who led all defensive backs in interceptions this year in South Florida, will compete against a number of elite players from all over the nation.

Originally committed to Ole Miss, the 6-0, 190-pounder opened things up toward the end of the season, and a positive showing during the week in San Antonio, and in the game, can really make things interesting as we head toward National Signing Day.

NEW NETWORK HAS IT COVERED
When the 24/7 Recruiting Network started at the beginning of the 2010 high school football season, many didn't see how this fledging operation would be able to go against the giants like Scout.com, Rivals.com and ESPN, but with impressive people like Newberg, things have really taken off.

With an eye on recruiting in Florida, and concentrating on the FSU Seminoles, Newberg has been one of the top people the network hired.

This past week, Newberg has been at the Under Armour events in Orlando, and when the scene shifts to Tropicana Field on Wednesday for the third annual game, he will be there watching a number of players he has covered for years.

You can also listen to Tuesday night's show via the Internet at www.wqam.com.
