Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.
With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.
Don't forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via Twitter @ larryblustein.
PLAYER: Stacey Coley
YEAR: 2013
SCHOOL: Northeast
CITY: Oakland Park
POSITION: WR
HEIGHT: 6-2
WEIGHT: 175
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH: Donnell Bennett
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The No. 1 youth football player of the year in South Florida a year ago after an impressive career for the Fort Lauderdale Hurricanes, this is an athlete who never skipped a beat as he went from the 175-pound team to the high school varsity level and continued to dominate.
While most saw him for the first time last year, this is yet another quality talent that has been on the radar screen for three years already with his speed, tremendous hands and ability to get open against anyone - at any level.
Has already proven to those who had never watched him play that he will indeed be a national recruit. Hard to imagine that there are many receiving prospects nationally who can bring as much to the table at a young age as he has already done for the Hurricanes.
Big time prospect who is only going to get better!
